.
Here I will show how to do, cam and needle arrangement to make single Lacoste, or single pique knitted fabrics.
If we look closely in a single lacoste fabric, we can see the design below repeat pattern.
- The first coarse is all knit loops.
- The second coarse is knit - tuck -knit - tuck loop pattern.
- The third coarse is all knit loops.
- The forth coarse is tuck - knit - tuck - knit loop pattern.
So the loop notation is something like this.
From here we see the repeat is 4 course and 2 whales. So we will need four feeders and two track cam arrangement.
- Feeder 1 will be 2 knit cam.
- Feeder 2 will be knit cam and then tuck cam.
- Feeder 3 will be 2 knit cam.
- Feeder 4 will be tuck cam and knit cam.
One 1-butt needle and one 2-butt needle will be required for the design. 1-butt needle will move through the first cam track. 2-butt needle will move through the second cam track.
The knitting machine cylinder will have 50% 1-butt needle and 50% 2-bud needle.
